Reply #2 - Oct 16th, 2008, 2:50am Hey girls .. i am here, and i will encourage u all i can!! i started a lot larger than u guys, over 100kg, and have now lost 20 kg on medical vita diet, and walking daily. I started at the end of June, so its fairly fast, i have been enjoying my life on the way too, i think thats important. I like to get out with the girls occasionally for some 'dreaded diet' wines, and i think, hey, if i can't do that, i'd never stay on this for the duration. i am giving myself till Easter too see exactly how low i can go, i'd like to weigh somewhere in the late 70's kg.. i am sure i can get there. This forum has never been very popular, i'm not sure if many of the diet users are computer people or not! but feel free to reply here, or to my msn address sheree91@msn.com.

Chat soon, and DON'T give up.. promise me!!

Reply #3 - Nov 28th, 2008, 5:46am Hello ladies,

Yes, another newbie. Starting weight 98.5kgs, height 175cm... I am a curvy lass, so I'm in proportion, but sheesh, my ample chest is a heavy thing to carry around, so I'm working toward getting back to my optimum weight which is around the 73kg mark - so I want to be where you guys started!!

This week I decided to read up on Ketosis and see if the MVD no/low carb option was the right thing for me. I hadn't been eating a lot of carbs (other than crackers or toasted turkish bread with my cheese and wine - my downfall and the reason I gained so much freakin' weight again), so it seemed easy enough.

And, it is very easy! It's all up to your imagination really... Being a chef in my previous life, it's interesting to find substitutions... corn chips for nachos? NO! Use butter lettuce leaves (they're thick and sturdy) and hold the sour cream... yum!

So, I started on Tuesday. Weighed myself this morning - bang on 97kgs. Due to all the reading I did on ketosis, I know it's probably a high percentage of water, but it's a start, and a darn fine motivator!

Good luck and I'll be back soon!

Shan

Reply #5 - Dec 8th, 2008, 11:12pm Shaz, sounds like we're aiming for the same thing from the same starting position... although I've got the advantage of an extra 5cms in height..!

How are you going so far? I'm finding this one of the easiest weight management programmes to follow... probably because I can still eat cheese!! Makes you realise just how basic we are when it comes to foods we love; take them away and it all gets too hard.

Reply #10 - Jan 29th, 2009, 10:29am Newbie here too. Female, 40ish, 165cm, 91kg and very happily married. Aiming to get down to 65-70kg.
Biggest downfall is my love of food and sharing a bottle of wine with my husband 2-3 times a week.
I have had very little willpower for a while now and my metabolism packed up and moved out years ago.
My biggest fear is of losing weight and putting even more back on. Got down to 64kg, 11 years ago and gained ever since.
I won't have a problem with drinking lots of water as I do anyway. I just don't exercise and know that I should. Hopefully will get motivated to walk every morning and since it's getting cooler that should be easier.
I have tried another brand of shakes from the supermarket that was mixed with skim milk and I liked them but need more help in the way of encouragement from other dieters. I also considered Tony Ferguson but was put off by the cost and 3 ltrs of water.....

I read an advertisement in the local paper this afternoon and jumped on the internet when I got home and before I knew it had ordered my first week of shakes, so I will be starting early next week. Will make sure that I report how I go and hopefully provide others with the encouragement I am hoping to receive.
Cheers all.

Reply #11 - Feb 16th, 2009, 9:47pm Hi All,

I have to admit, this forum is a bit lacking when it comes to encouraging each other. I wonder why. I am a forum moderator (horsemanship forum) and must say that ... well... where are the moderators on this forum? Where are the admins checking in every so often to support newbies and help them out? .... OK my spill done.

I am happy to support and motivate (that's my job on the other forum) and ... I have experience in the weight loss industry as I used to work for an Australian Weight Loss company which was bought out by an American Weight Loss company.

To start with... anyone interested in getting support... it's a great if you put your location on the forum, this way you can connect with dieters who might be close by. This does a couple of things, a) it connects you to others giving you a sense of community, and b) you know you are not alone out there. The other benefit is ... you could get together for a coffee or shake .

Cheers

Petra

Reply #12 - Feb 17th, 2009, 1:00am Hi Everyone,

Admin is here and we check in to this forum a number of times a day to check out the activity. We are here if you need us, however, we have found that members prefer to use the forums to interact with each other and not necessarily with admin. To contact admin directly or ask a question, simply ask it on the forum and we'll answer for all to see, or send us an email to info@medicalvitadiet.com.au.

You are doing a really great job motivating our members stubby.... Online forums are great because they allow you to stay anonymous while sharing your journey with others. The trick is to keep sharing your journey - your stories inspire and motivate your forum buddies.

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi, I have just ordered the shakes so they should be here by the end of the week, I have Coeliac Disease so with the shakes, bars and soups being gluten free works well for me, I am 84kgs and am wanting to get down to 64kgs i am about 165cms tall, I have 3 children, 6, 4 and 1 who keep me on my toes all day everyday, I am heavier now than the day i had my baby, which makes me very disappointed, i have tried numerous things, but it was either i wasnt motivated, they didnt work, tasted fowl or i just didnt want to count points, but I seen this advertised on t.v and thought i would look it up and when it said gluten free i thought GREAT!!!! I had a car accident and my motivation to do things was non existant and my weight slowly crept on as to do anything caused pain, but have been informed to lose weight and that may help and i may have less pain, as well as be happier and heathier, my father had a heart attack in his 30's so i am determined to lose weight and be healthy and happy!!!! I have a few things to get me motivated, Kids!!!! a ball to go to at the end of May, family holiday in July and my 10 year wedding Anniversary in Feb 2011, in which we plan to renew our wedding vows, so i begin my weight loss journey and hope that we can all motivate each other to achieve our goals :) :)
